Commitment to be a better friend

I am committed to be a better friend. I have been a terrible friend lately. With my commute recently to a client, spending 3 + hours in the car a day and all of my volunteer work has really infringed on my friend time. Plus I have not made it a requirement. It is pathetic how much I have let those relationships falter. I have personally committed to making sure that I have booked 3-5 dinner or drinks with girl friends in the next week. With my best friend having moved across the pond to the UK, it is really not great that I have lost a whole social life.
